
Meet The Team
Tamerlan Tagziev
Tamerlan grew up wrestling in Ossetia, a district of Russia in the Caucasus mountains with a rich wrestling history and the highest competitive wrestler population per capita. He has been in the top twenty world rankings, winning gold at the Commonwealth Games and bronze at the Pan-Ams while repesenting Canada. With his competitive career behind him he has taken an interest in coaching to share his knowledge with future champions and wrestling enthusiasts.

Jay Jordon
Coach Jay is the driving force behind Central Toronto Wrestling. A past OFSAA medallist, national senior wrestler in both freestyle and greco-roman, he has been involved in coaching nationally and internationally for over 20 years. His focus has been on developing wrestling for youth within the City of Toronto. He has been a coach and mentor for many Canadian and International champions. He has served on the Executive of the OAWA and is Past President of Team Impact Wrestling Club. Coach Jay was the key member in founding Central Toronto Wrestling Club.

Dave Mair
A 3X National Champion himself, Dave has coached over 100 young Canadians to win national championships at every age level. He was Canadian Olympian Ohenawa Akuffo's coach and brings over 30 years of coaching experience to Central Toronto Wrestling. Personally mentored as an athlete and coach by Olympic Gold Medallist and 3X World Champion Anatoli Beloglazov, Coach Dave brings to Central Toronto Wrestling a depth of wrestling knowledge and experience without peer.

-Coached at 22 World Championships!
-Guelph Wrestling Club Coach 1999-2010 – 2001 and 2006 National Champions

Saeed Azarbayjani
Saeed is an Olympian and competed for Canada at the 2008 Beijing Games.
An experienced high-performance coach, Saeed brings a wealth of experience to the table, both with respect to international competition and domestic athlete development.
